Order 1 Teacher’s Guide for each additional co-teacher or small group leader.

The Teacher’s Guide is designed for use with the Classroom Kit for this curriculum. The spiral guide includes the curriculum introduction, lesson content, and appendix (but not the visuals or curriculum resources that are part of the Classroom Kit). Each Teacher’s Guide is designed to equip a small group leader or co-teacher with a copy of the curriculum to study and pray through as they prepare to minister to the children under their care.

We strongly recommend that you purchase an In the Beginning…Jesus banner as an important part of the curriculum. This full-color banner is made of durable vinyl with grommets for hanging so that it can be reused year after year and includes a set of Picture Clues and Check Marks printed on smooth poly. This resource is a creative teaching aid that children use to discover hidden clues. The Picture Clues are attached to the banner week by week. This banner constantly focuses the attention of the children on Jesus Christ and His work on the cross on behalf of sinners.

Note: the banner design has been refreshed, but both banner/poster versions can be used with either the original or the revised curriculum.

Order 1 for each student.

The Student Workbook, rather than weekly take-home worksheets, is used because a book that a child has diligently worked on, week by week, over the course of the study will provide the child with a lasting reminder of the lessons and key themes. The workbooks are kept in class each week. Children take their workbook home at the completion of the course. The workbooks can then serve to assist parents in reviewing with their children precious truth about God.

Workbooks are a valuable tool for students to use during application time. They are useful for generating discussion, assessing student understanding, reviewing important concepts, and applying principles learned.

Scripture memorization is encouraged throughout the curriculum. Verse Card packs provide a handy tool for children to take home while memorizing verses relevant to their class study. Verse cards are printed on sturdy cardstock and bound with a metal ring in a size that fits easily into a purse or backpack.

The Growing in Faith Together (GIFT) pages help connect church and home as parents and children discuss lesson content taught in the classroom. Parents are given a summary of the lesson along with a list of the main ideas and Scripture taught. Other items include:

• Prayer Points provide specific ways parents can pray over their son or daughter based on what was taught in class.
• As You Walk By the Way questions help parents discuss the lesson truths with their child.
• Activities designed to help children take what they have learned in class and act on it their daily lives.

Note: GIFT pages are bound in these spiral booklets. (Teachers with a Classroom Kit may email a PDF of the GIFT Pages to parents or print and send them home each week. Parents may also purchase the curriculum title within the Growing in Faith Together App.)
