Family Discipleship by Life Stage: Faithful Steps from Birth to Adulthood

Family Discipleship by Life Stage: Faithful Steps from Birth to Adulthood

God has given parents a sacred responsibility to teach their children to know and love Him. As Psalm 78 reminds us, God commands His people to teach the next generation “so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments” (Psalm 78:5–7).

Like you, we long to see the next generation follow Jesus, love His Word, and live by it. Family discipleship is a joyful calling—and a weighty one. At Truth78, our desire is to come alongside you to support and equip you as you disciple your children at every milestone of their development.

While children grow and change in significant ways over time, one calling remains constant: in every stage of development, parents are to model a life of faith and intentionally acquaint their children with the living God. God has uniquely positioned parents as the primary disciplers of their children, giving them daily opportunities to speak truth, model repentance and faith, and point their children to Christ.

The ordinary rhythms of family life—mealtimes, conversations, discipline, and worship—become the primary context for shaping a child’s understanding of God and His Word. Our prayer is that the resources below will help you make the most of these everyday opportunities for your child’s discipleship.
